HLC E-Bulletin June 2021 Vol. 30

This-Ability are now back in the classroom for face-to-face delivery. This is an exciting time for us as we can now provide our usual ways of learning. For example, our learners partaking in outdoor team building activities, such as the escape rooms and the allotment. We are also offering a blended approach to our job club, which is now running twice a week, including a face-to-face session and an online session.

From a safeguarding perspective this creates three areas of risk – Content: exposure to illegal, inappropriate or harmful material. Contact: being subject to harmful on-line interaction with other users. Conduct: personal on-line behaviour that increases the likelihood of, or causes harm.

From 8th March, post 16 provision has been able to return to face to face delivery, in spite of the fact that the staff and learner testing arrangements for the Independent Learning Sector will not be in place till April. Given that testing is seen as key to the effective and safe return of learners to schools and colleges, this is clearly not the best piece of Government planning you’ll ever see!
