Independent People 2.0 is a 3-year European Union ERASMUS+ strategic partnership (Apr24-Mar27), which builds upon the success of the previous Independent People project (2021-22). The 4 partner organisations all work to engage, support, develop, and progress disadvantaged young people. The Independent People 2.0 project aims to improve the professional skills and know-how of youth work practitioners by training them to use an innovative Portable Educational Escape Rooms (PEERs) methodology. PEERs enable young people to acquire essential soft (life) skills through interactive approaches to learning that focus on collaborative problem-solving . The development of these soft skills, e.g., team-working and communication lead to an increase in a young person’s peer-to-peer and community involvement, encourage their participation in education and training opportunities, and promote improved access to the labour market.
