Well not surprisingly we’re heading back into another National Lockdown from 5th November, so what does this mean for face to face delivery?

Although there are national concerns about the rising number of Covid cases, face to face delivery continues to be a crucial element in developing young people and
adults. We thought it would be useful to remind partners of the FE guidance available, to help us ensure staff and learners can work safely, and minimise the risk of transmission.

Since we shared our news of a phased return to the HLC office, we have now put a pause on this due to the Government’s latest announcement asking us all to work from home again, if we can.

Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) has warned that the impact of Covid-19 and social isolation could make some of society’s most vulnerable people more susceptible to radicalisation and other forms of grooming.

HLC are continuing to prioritise working from home during the Covid pandemic, having adapted well to virtual working. We have recognised that there are exceptions to this, for learners and staff, so we are starting a measured return to both HLC face-to-face delivery, and to working back in the office from 28th September. We will be taking a cautious approach to this return, with minimal numbers of learners and staff, and on a needs must basis.

During this unprecedented time our partners have still managed to provide fundamental learning and support to people across Yorkshire and NE Lincolnshire.

Having moved to their new building at Cottingham Station late last year and got settled in, one thing they realised they would benefit from is to have some outdoor space for their members to utilise (no room for that on a railway station platform).

HLC are now currently accepting electronic applications for Community Grants Round 4! A full assessment and formal negotiations on contract start dates and approval of award will be discussed upon our return to the office.

Hull Training are delighted to
announce that some of their learners
will be returning to Endeavour
Learning and Skills centre this week!

The National Guidance regarding face-to-face learning delivery is moving swiftly, in line with the opening of pubs, shops and businesses, and as a consequence of pressure from representative bodies.

Thank you for all the interest that’s been shown in the HLC E-Bulletin. We have received some amazing feedback to our new feature ‘Tales from lock down.’ It’s been great to hear about your experiences and what you’ve been up to during this working from home period.

Welcome to HLC’s re-vamped Safeguarding newsletter. We’ve been busy during lockdown, reviewing our systems and we’ll be looking to launch a number of improved Safeguarding and PREVENT resources for our delivery partners over the coming few months – including a simplified 6-step alert process.
