We require this information to enrol you onto one of our educational programmes, to provide a service to you or to inform you of learning opportunities, events or courses, to improve our services and for record keeping.
Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password which enables you to access certain parts of our site, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share a password with anyone and to change your password at regular intervals (i.e. every 3 months).

Learner data is collected by HLC in accordance with the obligatory terms and conditions of funding for further learning or training. The data collected from you "the learner" is processed by HLC and its partners which may or may not include a third party web application. You will be notified of this before enrolment and you will also have the option to opt out if you would prefer to enrol using a traditional paper based method.
When completing the ILR or enrolment form please pay particular interest to the "How we use your details" section as this will outline the details for processing the information you have supplied to us.
Data provided is primarily used by funders to perform statutory functions on behalf of the Secretary of State as set out in the Apprenticeships, Skills, Children and Learning Act 2009 and to create (or maintain) a Unique Learner Number and a Personal Learning Record.
If you choose to enrol using an electronic method, the data you provide will be submitted using either of the following:
A third party application (Google Apps for Work & Eductaion) with data stored on an ISO accredited platform using 2-way encryption method.
Google’s security practices are verified and certified by third-party auditors. They have achieved ISO 27001 certification, which means that an independent auditor has examined the controls present in data centres, infrastructure, and operation.
HLC will endeavour to ensure your data is as secure as it can be using third party applications however we do recommend you to read Google Apps for Work and Education Privacy Information “How Google uses your data” available here
For some of our programmes enrolment could be through an electronic application. The information you provide in this instance is collected using Adobe. You will be notified of this upon registration and more information will be available under the “How we use your information” on the enrolment form.
Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to us; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.
If you wish to refrain from submitting information using electronic communication then paper based copies of all forms are available through our partner organisations.
Information you provide may be shared with other organisations throughout our partnership and other external agencies for education, training, employment and well-being related purposes, including for research.
You may be contacted after you have completed your programme of learning to establish whether you have entered employment or gone onto further training and/or to provide feedback on your learning experience.
Learners must agree to the statement on the enrolment form to allow us (and/or our partners) to process information and agree to the declaration certifying that information they have provided is correct and will inform the provider immediately upon change of detail or circumstance.
Activity you are enrolling on may be part financed by the European Union through the European Social Fund (ESF) and this will be stated on the enrolment form.
