Humber Technical Assistance recently attended the See Green event run by arc, as part of Humber Business Week on Thursday 9 June.
All ERDF funded building projects must be BREEAM accredited. As part of the See Green event, HTA facilitated and funded a BREEAM presentation to provide delegates with an introduction to planning for and achieving BREEAM accreditation.
Ruskin Gammon and Paul Stephenson from Energy Building made a presentation about BREEAM on behalf of Humber Technical Assistance.

The Green City Hull event is aimed at giving businesses an up-to-date look and practical knowledge of what opportunities exist and what other ideas are being worked on.

Following the abolition of the Regional Development Agencies, it looks likely that ERDF will be administered centrally by CLG and locally by Local Enterprise Partnerships. The role and scope of technical assistance partnerships is entering a period of change.
Aims
This conference will aim to equip technical assistance partnerships in preparation for this change.
The event will also provide opportunities for networking and developing new consortia, identifying potential delivery partners etc.

The Yorkshire and the Humber Programme Monitoring Committee (PMC) has issued a preliminary call for proposals to include additional activities around adaptation to and mitigation of climate change. The initial deadline for proposals under this supplementary call is 30 November 2010.
Aims of this event
• to introduce ERDF including explanation of priorities and proposed climate change activities
• to explore climate change activity and projects that could be eligible
• to provide opportunity for networking and feedback for those organisations who may submit a proposal under this call

ERDF aims to boost economic performance in the region through investments aimed at increasing innovation, competitiveness and employment.
The visitor economy has been identified in the new ERDF call and prospectus as a key cluster and significant growth sector. ERDF will provide revenue support for organisations within the visitor economy and tourism business sector, encouraging them to innovate and respond to changing customer demand.

Environmental Good Practice is an ERDF cross cutting theme, devised to ensure that sustainable development underpins and informs the delivery of all the activity financed through the programme.
The Humber area is driving forward the development of the renewable energy sector providing opportunities for business in tidal technologies, biofuels, wind energy and biomass.
This event will also provide an opportunity to prepare for the potential introduction of a new ERDF priority - Priority 6 - Adaptation to and Mitigation of Climate Change (to be announced end of November 2010)
