We are seeking an experienced and motivated team player to deliver outcomes for a project that strengthens the BME voluntary and community organisations in Yorkshire & the Humber. The Regional Forum plays a key and expanding role in the region, promoting the influence, contribution and role of the voluntary & community sector.
Main areas of work include:
- Developing a range of communication mechanisms with BME VCS
- Events to bring VCS BME and generalist organisations together
- Linking BME organisations with local authorities and regional agencies
- Action research about good practice and collaborative working
Experience and skills required include:
- Excellent relationship management
- At least 2 years work with the BME voluntary sector
- Knowledge of the policy environment and issues facing BME organisations

SEARCH (Social & Economic Action Resource of Churches in Hull & District) is seeking a Development Worker.
The post-holder will work with churches of any denomination, with particular emphasis on identified areas of socio-economic deprivation. You will provide advice and support to local churches to assist them in developing existing or new responses to opportunities and needs in their local communities.
You will also join people up, create chances to share experiences, spread knowledge and let other sectors know what churches achieve.
The successful candidate will:
Have experience of development work with voluntary and community groups
Be able to network and work in partnership with a variety of sectors
Be self-motivating as a lone worker

CHANGE is a national organisation run by Disabled People working for equal rights of all people with learning disabilities.
CHANGE has received a grant from the Equality & Humans Rights Commission. This grant will be used to run a project called 'Living our Lives in Safety'. This project will support People with Learning Disabilities to become more aware of hate crime and how to report it.
We are looking to appoint a Project Worker.
The post is funded until 31 March 2011 in the first instance. A second year is planned subject to confirmation of continued funding, which is highly likely.
You will work alongside a co-worker with a learning disability to develop and deliver a training course for both people with learning disabilities and professionals about hate crime. This is an exciting opportunity to join a successful and innovative human rights organisation.

5. ESOL Network Co-ordinator

HLC helps voluntary organisations to deliver high quality learning opportunities. Reporting to the Director of Programmes, you will have overall responsibility for coordinating the Humber ESOL Learning Providers (HELP) Network and developing ESOL provision in partnership with statutory and voluntary sector partners. The post is based in Hull, with some work activities required sub-regionally.
Ideally you will be educated to degree level, operate proficiently in multi-agency settings, and have sound experience of working with and developing partnerships. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct community consultation and fundraise. Previous experience of delivering ESOL, or developing educational activities would be advantageous.

The HPFA has been working in the Humber area since 1975 to help communities protect, improve and procure local recreational facilities. Following the award of a Big Lottery Fund Reaching Communities grant for the Humberactive project, the HPFA are recruiting three staff for the 5 year duration of the project.
Humberactive will be based at Howden with the Humber and Wolds Rural Community Council, but it may be possible for individual staff to be based elsewhere in the Humber area. Humberactive will work in the rural areas of the Humber region to assist communities to develop and improve community owned or managed recreation facilities and to organise and deliver active recreation activities.
The role is to work with communities to establish active recreation activities by helping them identify their needs, and to organise and deliver the activities in a range of settings such as village halls, playing fields and play areas. Applicants should have a minimum of 2 years experience of working in a similar role, and should be qualified to lead a range of activities in sport/exercise/play.
Successful applicants will be required to undertake an enhanced CRB check.
