1. Skills for Life Tutors

We are looking for energetic and enthusiastic individuals to deliver literacy, numeracy and IT courses in Levenshulme, Rochdale, Oldham and South Liverpool.
The ideal candidate will have excellent people skills, be able to deliver Skills for Life using computers, and work with little supervision. IT competence is mandatory for all roles.
You should hold a teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed or DTLLS. A PTLLS is the minimum requirement.
A Level 4 /5 subject specialism qualification, particularly in Numeracy, will be an advantage.
Experience in delivering Literacy, Numeracy and IT, particularly in a learndirect environment, will also be an advantage.

2. Communications and Marketing Officer

The Alcohol and Drug Service is a locally based, independent organisation working in Hull, the East Riding of Yorkshire, North and North East Lincolnshire. It is a highly regarded dynamic agency committed to the counselling and care of people overcoming substance use problems.
They are looking for well-motivated, clear thinking, flexible people with sound judgement and currently have the following vacancy
Alcohol Practitioner
The successful candidate will:
- Deliver advice, support and information through the direct access element of the service based in Hull
- Manage a caseload of service users with alcohol related problems
- Liaise with elements of the criminal justice system, in particular HMP Hull and Humberside Probation Trust is key to this role.
The successful applicant will have a professional qualification, some evidenced experience of working with alcohol use or substances misuse treatment approaches and ideally have knowledge of the criminal justice system. Previous experience of developing and delivering group work would be advantageous.
Some evening work will be required on a rota basis.

Strut is a small Lincolnshire based charity that became part of KIDS earlier this year. KIDS and Strut are working together to improve the lives and opportunities of disabled children in the local area.
We are now looking for 2 highly motivated individuals to take our vision forward and are recruiting the 2 following posts:
To devise a community fundraising programme and support network in the local area. The successful candidate will develop fundraising opportunities with individual, corporate and trust supporters; researching, and organising fundraising activities enabling targets to be met.

8. Sessional Skills 4 Life Tutors

Hours: 16-20 per week

The Big Life Group aims to provide first class services to the most socially excluded groups - whether in employment and training, childcare or health and community centres - and are committed to offering a first class service to all of our clients.
As a member of our Skills for Life team, you will be responsible for the delivery of Skills for Life programmes under the Employability Skills Programme project, covering Numeracy, Literacy or ESOL. You will ensure that all clients undergo an initial diagnostic assessment to determine their educational standard, and you will progress them to the next identified level. You'll monitor and review client progressions on a regular basis to identify additional support needs and barriers, within agreed contract requirements.
These positions are to start on 27th September or sooner if possible, and will last until 24th December. There is however a strong possibility that the work will continue until 31st March 2011.
Qualifications required
You must have a recognised teaching qualification, such as DTLLS, Cert Ed, PGCE or PGDE, and a Level 4/5 subject specialism in either Numeracy, Literacy or ESOL.
