For Microsoft Office documents (i.e. Word or Excel):
- If you have the software installed on your PC the document will open in your own software package.
- If you haven't got the software installed then a dialogue box opens offering you the option to either 'Save' or 'Open' the file
For other documents, including PDF files, it will open in a browser window if you click on it with your left mouse button.
For all documents, if you use the right mouse button you will be given options to "Open in a New Tab" (for the latest browser versions), "Open in a New Window", "Save Target As" and download it to your own PC or "Print".
